01 — Conversation & Direction
Every custom project begins with the application. Share the space, inspiration, material references, drawings, or design goals, and we’ll explore the possibilities for color, texture, imagery, scale, and finish.
02 — Material Development
Ideas are translated into glass through a combination of hands-on and digital development. Custom textures may be hand sculpted or developed from visual references, while color, metallic finishes, decorative interlayers, and imagery can be explored according to the project.
03 — Sampling & Refinement
Physical samples allow the material to be evaluated in the intended environment before final fabrication. Custom samples typically range from 3" × 3" to 12" × 12" and generally require 2–4 weeks. Custom development samples are complimentary for architects and designers.
04 — Detailing & Approval
Once the material direction is established, dimensions, fabrication, edge details, openings, and other project requirements are resolved. Shop drawings are provided for approval, with engineering coordination available when required.
05 — Fabrication & Project Support
Following approval, the design moves into fabrication with the agreed material, dimensions, finish, and detailing carried through to the finished glass. Toku Glass remains available throughout the project for technical coordination and can recommend experienced installation partners when needed.
